Posted on 21st February 2018

We are appealing to the public for information after an elderly man was cruelly taunted by three boys in Chaddesden.

The 68-year-old victim was allegedly approached by the boys, thought to be aged between 13 and 16, near the park benches in the Sussex Circus area of Chaddesden at around 6pm on Friday, February 16.

The man’s walking stick was stolen and he was verbally abused by the trio.

PC Christopher Martin said: “This was a humiliating and frightening ordeal for a vulnerable man. I would urge anyone that knows who might be responsible to come forward.

“If you witnessed the incident, have heard gossip about what happened or know teenagers that frequently hang around in the area, we’d love to hear from you.

“I would also ask parents of teenagers in the local area to ask whether they’ve heard anything about what happened.”

Anyone with information, please call PC Christopher Martin on 101 quoting reference 18000079599.
