Posted on 26th February 2018

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after he was seen acting oddly by police in a street in Derby.

Officers were in Normanton Road at about 1.30pm on Saturday, February 24, when they spotted a man on a bicycle talking to two pedestrians.

He appeared to show them the contents of his bag and the officers stopped him to find out what he was doing.

The man’s bag was checked and police found what was believed to be synthetic cannabinoids inside, along with a number of small bags.

He was then arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

The man has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
