Co-op customer sought after stopping two alleged thieves

Posted on 27th February 2018

We are trying to trace a customer who stopped two would-be thieves trying to steal from a Co-op in Derby.

Just before 1pm on Sunday, February 25, two men went into the Duffield Road branch and allegedly filled a bag with meat and tried to leave.

The men were challenged by staff and customers and the bag was taken from them following a struggle.

Two men, aged 32 and 34, have been arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue.

We want to speak to a man who was involved in challenging the alleged thieves.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Rachel Ward on 101, quoting reference 18000090315.
