Man arrested after two people are found injured in Stockbrook

A man has been arrested after a woman was found seriously injured at a house in Stockbrook.

We were called to Pittar Street at 2.50pm on Saturday, June 23, following reports that a 50-year-old man was injured in the street.

A 33-year-old woman was found injured in a house in the same street minutes later.

Both were taken to hospital by paramedics and the man was later arrested on suspicion of wounding and sexual assault. He will be questioned in due course.

The woman remains in hospital.
