Renewed witness appeal after alleged assault

Our officers have issued a further appeal for information following the alleged assault of a 31-year-old man in Stenson Fields, on Saturday, June 24.

Officers were called to Pilgrims Way in Stenson Fields at 12.45am and found a man in the road with serious injuries.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains.

As cited in a previous media release, a 27-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and affray in connection with this incident.

The 27-year-old has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Monday, July 23.

Detective Constable Mark Sharma said, “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this alleged assault or anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time.

“The victim has been left seriously injured, and requires hospital treatment for a fractured skull. Therefore, it is very important that anyone with information about what may have happened to him comes forward to help us with our investigation.”
