Man dies in Normanton house fire

We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after house fire in which one man died.

The emergency services were called to an address in Harriet Street, Normanton, at about 6.40pm today to reports of a serious house fire.

Tragically one person has been confirmed dead and two further occupants of the property have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A police cordon is in place and will remain so overnight.

A joint fire investigation with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue will be continuing tomorrow morning.
