Posted on 13th March 2018

We’re appealing for witnesses after a teenager was allegedly assaulted and racially abused.

At around 3.30pm on Monday, March 5, a 13-year-old girl was walking home along Stanley Road, Boulton, when she alleges she was approached by another girl and a woman, who assaulted her.

The victim says she was pulled to the floor by her headscarf, kicked in the face and racially abused. She suffered a cut lip and grazes to her leg.

A 12-year-old girl and 41-year-old woman have attended a police station for a voluntary interview. Inquiries are ongoing.

There were several people in the area at the time who have yet to come forward, including a passing driver who stopped his car to intervene in the attack.
