Appeal for information after a distraction burglary in Chesterfield

Posted on 23rd March 2018

Officers investigating a distraction burglary where thieves stole money from an elderly woman are appealing for information.

On Tuesday, March 13 between 12.30pm and 4.20pm four men knocked on the door of a house on Bevan Drive in Inkersall.

It is thought that they asked the homeowner for money for diabetes.

The men entered the house and the woman later found out that cash was missing from her purse.

Three of the men were white and one was black. They were all wearing blue t-shirts and were carrying clip-boards and wearing lanyards around their neck.

It is possible that they visited other properties on the street.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Lisa Sindall on 101 quoting reference number 18000116107.
