Door of Hadfield home nailed shut and attempts made to set it alight

Posted on 29th March 2018

Detectives are investigating an incident at a house in Hadfield in which a front door was nailed shut and attempts made to set it alight.

On the evening of Friday, March 23, someone used a nail gun to secure the door of a house in Maguire Avenue before pushing a lit piece of paper through the letterbox.

Two people were inside the house at the time. No one was injured.

Two men in a scruffy white van, who could be responsible, were seen outside the house at around 8pm and are thought to have been drinking at the Palatine pub in Hadfield prior to the incident.
