Man arrested on suspicion of robbery in Chaddesden

A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after allegedly entering an off licence with what appeared to be a gun.

At around 6.10pm last night (Monday, March 12), a man entered Broomhalls off licence, in Wiltshire Road, Chaddesden and demanded money, producing what looked like a gun or an air weapon.

He tried to take a crate of beer but was challenged by the shopkeeper and dropped it.

Officers went straight to the scene and searched the area, arresting a 32-year-old Derby man nearby on suspicion of robbery.
