Further arrests made following incident where man was shot in Derby

Officers have made six further arrests after a 26-year-old man was shot on Coleridge Street in the Sunny Hill area of the city on Friday, April 27.

Last night officers conducted a warrant in Weston-on-Trent and during the evening three men and two women were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

One man has been released under investigation and the others remain in police custody.

These recent arrests bring the total number of people arrested to ten. Four people were arrested over the weekend and all were released on bail pending further investigations.

Detective Inspector Dave Ball said: “Gun crime will not be tolerated in our county and we will work tirelessly to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

“Our officers will continue to carry our enquiries and the investigation is continuing.”
