Did you witness Mickleover burglary?

We’re appealing for information after a burglary at a home in Bowland Close that happened sometime between 9am on Monday, April 30 and 8.45am on Tuesday, May 1.

During the burglary a quantity of sentimental jewellery was stolen including: engagement and wedding rings and a number of diamond and sapphire rings – one of which was flower-shaped. Two engraved silver bangles were also taken as well as a number of items of gold jewellery and a pearl necklace.

All items of jewellery were contained in a jewellery box, which was also stolen. This is described as medium-sized and made of red leather.

In addition, a black Nintendo DS console and 400 Superking duty free cigarettes were also stolen.

It is believed that the burglar/s gained entry to the home via an upstairs window.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time, or who has recently been offered any similar jewellery for sale is asked to call PC Laura McLuckie on 101, quoting reference number 18000196149.
