Witnesses sought to Shelton Lock theft

We’re appealing for witnesses to a theft that took place in Chellaston Road on Friday, November 9 at around 5pm.

It is reported that an 82-year-old woman had crossed over the Merrill Way junction on her mobility scooter, when she was approached from behind. The person grabbed her handbag and then ran away in the direction of Merill Way towards Rolls Royce.

The person is described as a white, teenage boy, of large build who was wearing grey jogging bottoms.

After the incident, a bank card belonging to the victim was used to make a number of transactions with a fast food company.
