Injured man now stable following alleged Normanton stabbing

The victim of an alleged stabbing in Normanton is now in a serious but stable condition as our investigation continues.

Two people have been arrested following the incident which occurred at an address on Melbourne Street at around 4.20am this morning (Tuesday, October 9).

A 37-year-old man received neck injuries consistent with being attacked with a sharp object.

A 41-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested.

Inspector John Murphy said: “The cordon that had been in place throughout the morning has now been lifted – and I can reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.

“I’d like to thank local residents for their patience during our work at the scene this morning.”
