Two arrested in firearms investigation

Posted on 10th October 2018

Two men have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into reports that a gun was fired in a Normanton street earlier this week.

Our officers made one arrest in Mount Carmel Street, Normanton, and a second at an address in Arleston Lane, Sinfin, this afternoon.

The arrests relate to an incident in St Chads Road on the evening of Sunday, October 7, in which the door of a house was damaged by what was believed to be a firearms discharge.

We are appealing for information on that incident and particularly want to hear from anyone with dashcams who were driving in the St Chads Road area at about 8.30pm on Sunday.

Anyone with information should get in touch using one of the below methods, quoting incident 1278 of October 7.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Please note in the event of an emergency you should always call 999.
