Witnesses sought to Willington quad bike robbery

Posted on 24th October 2018

We are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in which a quad bike was stolen.

The incident happened on Monday, October 15, at around 3pm, on Twyford Road, Willington.

A 46-year-old man was driving an orange-coloured Quadzilla quad bike through Willington. He reported that he was followed from the Green Man roundabout and then along the A5132 Twyford Road by two men in a black Mitsubishi L200 truck, who were driving very closely behind.

Just before the turn for Frizams Lane, the truck and the quad bike collided and both vehicles pulled into a layby.

The passenger in the truck threatened the quad bike driver, hit him round the side of his head and threw him off the quad. The passenger climbed on the quad and drove off, with Mitsubishi following. Both vehicles turned onto Frizams Lane and drove off towards Stenson.

The injured man required hospital treatment for minor injuries.

The attacker is described as being white, 5ft 9ins tall, in his mid-30s, with dark hair.
