Disorder at the Woodpecker in Mackworth: man now in a serious but stable condition as witness appeal continues

Posted on 17th September 2018

The condition of the 28-year-old man we reported as critical yesterday, following events in and around the Woodpecker pub in Mackworth in the early hours of Saturday morning, is now described as serious but stable.

We are appealing for witnesses to the disorder, particularly if they have video footage, to come forward.

At around 1am on Saturday, September 15, a brawl that started inside the Woodford Road venue spilled outside.

An incident we believe to be linked to that disorder occurred at a nearby address on Ryegate Drive shortly afterwards.

A 28-year-old man was then admitted to hospital with serious head injuries.

A 45-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested.
