The strategy aims to increase trust, confidence and satisfaction through the delivery of a high quality policing service for everyone in Derbyshire.


Gender Equality Scheme

This Gender Equality Scheme builds on Derbyshire Constabulary's progress towards equality and diversity to ensure that all individuals are respected, treated fairly and sensitively as members of society. The Scheme sets out the promises we are making on gender equality and explains how we will meet and surpass our legal responsibilities.

In April 2007, we published our Gender Equality Scheme (GES). Over the last year significant progress has been made. This report highlights some of the best practice established locally and nationally.


Strategy for Improving Performance in Race and Diversity

This national strategy aims to ensure that every individual in the police service can be assessed for their competence in diversity, supported by a modular learning programme. This is aimed at improving performance.


Breaking Through

This national action plan aims to improve the recruitment, retention and progression of minority ethnic staff in the police service.

Race Equality Scheme

On this web site, we have published a Race Equality Scheme. The scheme sets out how we are complying with the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000. It includes an action plan on how we intend to improve the way we promote racial equality.


Race Equality Programme for the Police Service 2005

This national action plan sets out a framework for addressing the recommendations of several enquiries and reports including Morris, Taylor and the Commission for Racial Equality's investigation into the police service.

Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership Strategies

These nine strategies are drawn together by the statutory agencies within the county - who work with Derbyshire Constabulary.

Policing Plan

Under the Freedom of Information section of this web site, you can view the Policing Plan for Derbyshire 2005-2006. This is our annual policing and best value performance plan. It includes our community safety strategy.


Derbyshire Criminal Justice Board: plans and initiatives

The Derbyshire Criminal Justice Board consists of lead officers from the criminal justice system, including Derbyshire Constabulary. The Board has launched a range of initiatives and plans relating to race and improving public confidence in the criminal justice system.
