Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Reducing the number of thefts from vehicles and burglaries in the area.
This issue was set on 11 February 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Carry out both high visibility patrols for reassurance and plain clothes patrols to identify offenders.
    • Work with partnership agencies to educate residents and motorists and encourage them to take steps to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
    • Work with the community to offer SmartWater and other security devices to keep people's homes and cars secure.

  2. Tackling anti-social behaviour and underage drinking at Walgrove Road and the surrounding area.
This issue was set on 11 February 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Police and Council Rangers to carry out joint patrols of the area.
    • Talk to the community to identify the extent of the problem and identify those involved.
    • Take appropriate action such as acceptable behaviour contracts against those found persistently committing offences.

  3. Reducing the number of handbag and purse thefts from the local supermarket.
This issue was set on 11 February 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Police to patrol the store both in uniform and plain clothes at peak times.
    • Hold a regular crime prevention stall in the supermarket to increase the awareness of shoppers and offer security equipment.
    • Train staff to ensure they know what to look out for and to offer advice to customers about keeping their possessions in view at all times.

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
