The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Reduce speeding and improve road safety around Saltergate and Ashgate Road.
This issue was set on 12 March 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Increase patrols and work with colleagues in Roads Policing to catch offenders and enforce the speed limit
    • Members of the community to keep a log of when and where incidents happen
    • Work with partner agencies and local schools and colleges to promote road safety to young people

  2. Reducing the number of youths congregating around Foston Drive and Wardgate Way shopping centre
This issue was set on 12 March 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Increase uniformed patrols by working with Neighbourhood Rangers and use head cams to gather evidence of anti-social behaviour.
    • Liaise with local residents and shopkeepers to find out when the problem is occurring so we can target our patrols.
    • Work with the B-Safe team to engage with youngsters and organise diversionary activities for them to take part in.

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
