Gamesley is a residential estate located within the High Peak Borough Council area, approximately 3 miles from Glossop Town Centre and 15 miles from Manchester City Centre. Only about a mile away is the village of Charlesworth, which is a semi rural area.

The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Derbyshire Constabulary has signed up to the Policing Pledge. Our Policing Pledge sets out the standards of service you can expect from us, including our response times and how often you will be able to see your Safer Neighbourhood Team visibly working in your area.

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Help prevent and deter burglaries, with a particular focus on more vulnerable members of the community.
    This issue was set on 09 March 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Increase patrols in the area.
    • Neighbourhood Watch scheme to be set up.
    • Visits to homes and ensure residents are given crime prevention advice and assistance.

     
  2. Reduce the level of anti-social behaviour and noise nuisance near to The Centurian public house, Melandra Castle Road.
    This issue was set on 06 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Increased police patrols.
    • Work with the licensee to help address the issue.
    • Encourage residents to report any incidents.
    • Take enforcement action where necessary.

     
  3. Safety and security around deralict buildings in the Gamesley area.
    This issue was set on 06 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Increased police patrols.
    • Work alongside property owners and other partners to look at ways to improve safety and security.
