This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Allestree. It belongs to the Derby North policing section.
 
Allestree is located in D division; it is a residential area approximately 2 miles from Derby City Centre. It is a suburb which has its own local amenities which include shops, primary and secondary schools, public houses and churches which hold several different community groups. The University of Derby and Markeaton Park lie on the outskirts of Allestree.

The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Derbyshire Constabulary has signed up to the Policing Pledge. Our Policing Pledge sets out the standards of service you can expect from us, including our response times and how often you will be able to see your Safer Neighbourhood Team visibly working in your area.

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Anti social behaviour Blenheim Parade area.
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Laura Bartlett of the Anti social behaviour team has been requested to send letters to a group who were trespassing and drinking alcohol on Woodlands School.
    • Local community contacts informed and will assist with early warning.
    • Increase patrols on Friday night.

     
  2. Criminal activity, anti-social behaviour and underage drinking Markeaton Park.
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Continue to work in partnership with Park Rangers.
    • Liaise with Mackworth Safer Neighbourhood team who have a priority to address anti social behaviour near the toilets.
    • Maintain high visibility and covert patrols.

     
  3. Parking issues near University.
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Take positive action where offences are committed.
    • Support action plan agreed by the Allestree and Darley Neighbourhood Boards.
    • Liaise with Allestree neighbourhood watch groups.

     

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
