These three villages were originally mining villages and are situated close to the M1 motorway. Tibshelf Motorway Service area is part of the Safer Neighbourhoods area.

Tackling anti-social behaviour on the Charnwood Crescent Estate and playing fields, Newton.

Actions to be taken are as follows:
Increase high visibility police patrols in the area to reassure members of the public and deter offenders.
Speak to the youths about their behaviour and issue nuisance letters and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts to persistent offenders.
Encourage residents to report any anti-social behaviour and keep a record of incidents.
Tackling speeding motorists along Alfreton Road, Newton.

Actions to be taken are as follows:
High visibility patrols on foot and in marked vehicles along this stretch of road to deter motorists from speeding.
Liaise with Derbyshire County Council and arrange for speed monitoring equipment to be used at the site to gain a better understanding of the extent of the problem.
Work with Roads Policing Unit to catch speeding motorists and deal with them positively.
Reducing the number of speeding vehicles along the High Street, Tibshelf.

Actions to be taken are as follows:
Conduct high visibility patrols in the area to deter motorists from speeding through the village.
Work with partnership agencies and the Roads Policing Unit to carry out operations to tackle speeding.
Carry out speed checks using the hand held speed devices and deal with offenders as necessary.
These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
