Clay Cross is a small town with three distinct settlements of population, Danesmoor, Holmegate and Clay Lane, which are linked by a common retail area and social facilities adjacent to the A61 road.

The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Derbyshire Constabulary has signed up to the Policing Pledge. Our Policing Pledge sets out the standards of service you can expect from us, including our response times and how often you will be able to see your Safer Neighbourhood Team visibly working in your area.

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Tackling anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in the area of Sharley Park
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Increase police patrols in the area to deter offenders and allow members of the public to report incidents.
    • Work with the the council to consider diversionary activities for teenagers to help build relationships and prevent anti-social behaviour.
    • Work with the community to gather intelligence on the offenders and deal with them appropriately once identified.

     
  2. Reducing anti-social behaviour on Penncroft Drive, Danesmoor
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Increase police patrols in the area to reassure members of the public and deter offenders.
    • Persistent offenders to be identified and issued with nuisance letters and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts to put an end to the behaviour.
    • Work with partners to look at the possibility of introducing diversionary activities for youngsters in the area including inter-village football games.

     
  3. Tackling nuisance deliberate fires between Sharley Park and Cemetery Road, Danesmoor
    This issue was set on 16 June 2010
     
    Actions to be taken are as follows:
     
    • Carry out high visibility patrols in the areas identified as hotspots for the fires to reassure members of the public and gather information on suspected offenders.
    • Work with the fire service and local schools to educate youngsters on the dangers of deliberate fires and the distress it causes to local residents.

     

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
