The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Tackling nuisance motorbikes in Arkwright.
This issue was set on 09 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Increased patrols in the area to deter offenders.
    • Work with local residents and schools to educate people and identify those responsible.
    • Issue warnings and seize bikes from persistent offenders if necessary.

  2. Tackling speeding in Temple Normanton.
This issue was set on 09 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Speed checks using hand held speed detection devices.
    • Work with DCC highways department to conduct surveys and check signs.
    • Fixed penalty notices to be issued where an offence has been committed.

  3. Nuisance youths in and around Holmewood Library
This issue was set on 09 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Regular visits to the library to be carried out to speak to staff about any issues and deter offenders from gathering there.
    • A regular help desk to be set up in the library so an officer can be available to reassure members of the public and listen to any concerns they have.
    • Work with Derbyshire County Council, library staff and local parents to gather information on persistent offenders so we can take appropriate action.

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
