The neighbourhood pledge and local priorities

Your current priorities for this neighbourhood

  1. Wingerworth - Nuisance behaviour and drug use around Allendale Road shops
This issue was set on 15 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Increased police patrols in the area to deter youths and 'boy racers' from congregating outside the shops.
    • Organise alternative activities for youngsters to take part in alongside the youth service.
    • Work with the parish and district council to help improve lighting to the rear of the shops and discuss the Health Centre redevelopment.

  2. Rural - Anti-social and inappropriate behaviour in rural car parks.
This issue was set on 15 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Increased patrols in the area at the relevant times to deter the behaviour.
    • Work with other parts of the force on Operation Caulke to try to eradicate the problem here and in other areas of the county.

  3. Rural - Nuisance motorcycles on Hungerhill Lane, Stonedge
This issue was set on 15 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Safer Neighbourhood officers to conduct high visibility patrols and take positive enforcement action where necessary.
    • Work with the council to look at the provision for signage and advertising the change of use after the lane was re-classified as a restricted byway.
    • Increase communication with local off road groups to make them aware of the law about the use of motorcycles on this lane.

  4. Wingerworth - Nuisance motorbikes and scooters in the village
This issue was set on 15 June 2010

Actions to be taken are as follows:

    • Officers to carry out dedicated patrols and speak to members of the community to identify bikes and offenders.
    • Warning to be issued to riders causing a nuisance and bikes to be seized by officers if the behaviour continues.
    • Work with the youth service to identify the youngsters and speak to them about the dangers of riding bikes without correct safety equipment.

These priorities were agreed with your team at your last Safer Neighbourhoods meeting. These meetings are open to everybody and allow you to affect what you feel needs addressing in your area.
