Police to offer crime prevention advice to mobile library users
Residents of rural villages in north east Derbyshire will be offered crime prevention advice while they borrow books as part of a joint initiative between police, the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and Derbyshire County Council.
Safer Neighbourhoods officers and members of the CSP will be aboard the council's mobile library bus in Barlow, Dronfield Woodhouse and Holmesfield next month in an effort to raise awareness of burglary prevention.
Library users will be able to speak to officers about any issues they have in their area and find out about the latest advice on crime prevention.
Officers will be aboard the bus from 2.10pm to 4.15pm on Tuesday, March 9, at several streets in Barlow and Dronfield Woodhouse and from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, March 10, in Holmesfield.
Derbyshire County Council has 12 mobile libraries that travel round the whole of the county and visit many rural and isolated communities, usually on a fortnightly basis.
Safer Neighbourhoods officers and PCSOs have joined the mobile library in other areas of the county and received positive feedback.
