Multi-agency drop-in day for Chesterfield residents

Police in Chesterfield will be joined by the council and fire service for a multi-agency drop-in day for shoppers and residents to find out what's happening in their area.

Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team officers, members of Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Environmental Services and the Community Safety Partnership will be on hand to talk about a range of topics from crime and fire prevention to local issues.

Representatives from Queen's Park Sports Centre will be there with information on upcoming events and the Youth Service will be available to offer advice to teenagers.

The drop-in will be held at the empty unit opposite Tesco in The Pavements, on Thursday, February 18, from 10am to 4pm.

Each agency will have a stand with information leaflets and giveaways.

PCSO Paul Smith, who helped organise the event, said: "We are holding it during half-term so we get a range of people from all age groups.

"It is a very informal day and people can come and chat to us about any issues they have, pick up some advice and find out what all the different agencies are doing in their area."

For more information call PCSO Smith on 0345 123 3333 or email chesterfield.neighbourhoods@derbyshire.pnn.police.uk.
