Beat Sweep to tackle anti-social behaviour in Pilsley
A team of police officers, youth workers and local councillors will hit the streets of Pilsley for a 'Beat Sweep' next week.
They will be joined by representatives from the Community Safety Partnership, Rykneld Homes and the Primary Care Trust to help tackle anti-social behaviour and improve the environment.
The Beat Sweep will take place on Friday, November 27th, from 7pm starting at the St Mary's Centre with the team patrolling the streets in the priority area offering advice to residents and providing alternative activities for youngsters.
Sgt Mel Hagues from the NE Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership said: "The Beat Sweeps are an excellent way of encouraging residents to take pride in their community. They also provide an opportunity for people to speak informally to the police and council staff about any problems in the area.
"With everyone working together the local environment and quality of life for local residents can be vastly improved."
