Two Dronfield teens cautioned over cannabis possesion

Two teenagers from the Dronfield area have been cautioned by police after being caught smoking cannabis in their cars.

The two men, both aged 18, were stopped by Safer Neighbourhoods officers in separate incidents on the evenings of Friday, January 22 and Sunday, January 24.

During routine patrols officers became suspicious and searched the cars under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Both offenders admitted possession of cannabis. One was given a street caution, the other a final warning.

PC James Mirfin of the Dronfield SNT said: "Drugs offences will not be tolerated in and around Dronfield by this Safer Neighbourhood team and every case we come across will be dealt with to the letter of the law.

"Offenders should know that we will look for them in every area of the town as well as the rural areas."

Last month a man in his 20s was fined after being caught smoking cannabis in his car in a church car park in Old Brampton.
