A free musical stage show to warn elderly residents across NE Derbyshire about the dangers of bogus callers hit the right note this week.
Elderly and vulnerable residents in Dronfield and Killamarsh were given crime prevention advice through the innovative stage shows performed by the Solomon Theatre Company.
Actors took to the stage on Thursday, February 25, to perform 'Trickster the Musical' to warn elderly and vulnerable residents they could be targeted by people trying to con their way into their home to steal from them.
The play follows an elderly gentleman as he battles with the shame and humiliation at being conned and his fight back to beat the bogus callers.
The NE Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership staged the event with local police Safer Neighbourhood teams, members of the fire service and Severn Trent Water staff on hand to offer advice to audience members after each show.
PCSO David Cattell, of the Killamarsh Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "The play was interesting and informative at the same time. Seeing it will definitely give more confidence to anyone faced with a potential bogus caller."
The theatre company will be back in NE Derbyshire later this year with a performance and workshops for school pupils looking at alcohol issues and peer pressure.
