Police offer free property marking in Gamesley

Police officers and PCSOs are offering free property marking for residents next week.

They will be based in the mobile police station, which will be parked on Winster Mews in Gamesley on Saturday, January 30 between 2 and 4pm.

Items such as pedal cycles and smaller portable articles such as laptops, mobile phones, mp3 players, sat-navs and cameras can be brought along for marking on the day.

Residents will also be able to pick up additional crime reduction advice and speak to their local Safer Neighbourhood policing team about any concerns or issues.

PC Paula Doyle of the Gamesley and Charlesworth Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We realise there will be many people will have received new things for Christmas and this would be a good opportunity to have them security marked.

"By having your property marked you will help to deter potential thieves and also help officers to recover and return items, should they be stolen or lost."
