Man jailed for burglary and other offences in Chesterfield

A 41-year-old man from Chesterfield has been jailed after pleading guilty to burglary.
 
Stephen Lacey, of Ward Street, Tupton, was jailed for 16 months following a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Friday, July 30.
 
Lacey broke in to a house on Woodthorpe Avenue, Holmegate, in February 2009 through a downstairs window and then let two accomplices in through the front door.
 
They searched the house, which was empty at the time, taking clothing, cash, a mobile phone and tools.
 
Lacey and his accomplices were arrested nearby after a neighbour called police.
 
Lacey pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentence to a total of 16 months in prison. Ten months for the offence of burglary and a further six months for breaching a previously suspended sentence for the offences of common assault and theft.
