Two men arrested in connection with a bank robbery

Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a bank in Derby city centre.
 
The men, both in their twenties, were arrested in the Liverpool area by detectives from Derbyshire with the assistance of Merseyside Police.
 
Both men were arrested on suspicion of robbery and are currently in custody in Derby.
 
On January 6th 2010 the Co-operative bank, in East Street was targeted when a blue Ford Mondeo was driven into the window of the branch.
 
Cash boxes were stolen as staff were about to fill up a cash machine. The offenders then made off and the vehicle was later found abandoned in Crompton Street.
 
Another vehicle, a white transit van and the cash, were also found in the same area nearby.
