Two men given formal warning over cannabis possession

Two men from the Matlock area have been given a formal warning by police after being caught smoking cannabis.

The men, both aged 18, were found by officers from the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team in the toilets at the bus station on Cawdor Way, Matlock on Saturday, February 6 2010.

Two other teenagers, aged 17, were arrested at the same location on suspicion of possessing cannabis and bailed.

Officers have been checking the area following complaints and concerns from members of the public about drug misuse in the area.

PC Jon Bewley of the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We are making regular patrols to the area and will continue to do so to get the message across that drugs offences will not be tolerated."
