11 people arrested during raids
A police operation to seek out suspects and arrest them has been successful.
During today's (Friday March 5) operation in Amber Valley and Erewash 10 warrants were executed and 11 people were arrested for a variety of offences.
A quantity of what is believed to be controlled drugs was seized.
Specialist search officers and police dogs and handlers joined local officers to carry out the raids.
Superintendent Kul Mahay, who is in charge of operational policing in the area said: "Our priority is to reduce the number of burglaries, robberies and drug offences that occur and pursue those who are responsible for committing them.
"Levels of crime in the area are continuing to fall and since the beginning of April last year offences in our area are more than eight per cent lower than the previous year.
"However we want to make sure that the reductions are maintained and that's why we carry out special operations like this one."
Anyone who has any information about crime or criminals can contact the police on 0345 123 33 33 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Note
The warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and the Theft Act.
Total crime in Amber Valley and Erewash fell from 16,363 to 14,946 from April 1 - Feb 28 compared with the previous year.
Drug offences rose by 15 per cent from 500 to 575 during the same period. This reflects an increase in information from the public and police action to target those who deal, grow or use illegal drugs.
