At about 8.45pm last night (Monday, March 8) three men went into Chad Booze, in Chaddesden Lane, and demanded money from the male shopkeeper.

They struck him around the head with a weapon, believed to be a bicycle lock, before stealing cash from the till and running off along Wilsthorpe Road.

The 58-year-old man suffered cuts to his head. He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital and was later discharged.

Officers, including search dogs, searched the area but did not find the men.

One of the robbers is described as white with blonde hair. He wore a grey hooded tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms and a white bandana over his face.

Another robber was white, wearing black trousers and a black hooded top. He also has a white bandana over his face.
