Seven people have been arrested as part of a crackdown run by Chaddesden Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

This has included two men arrested for breaking into cars at the Wyvern Retail Park, who have both since been charged with theft from vehicles.

And two other men were arrested in connection with burglary offences with around £2,000 worth of power tools and a stolen motorbike being recovered following search warrants.

They have been interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries.

One other man has been charged for theft from a car and another is on police bail also for vehicle crime offences.

A local youth has also been arrested and charged with burglary at a house in Essex Street.

Sergeant Matt Adams, of Chaddesden SNPT, said: "As a team we have been extremely pro-active in targeting people involved in burglary and car crime in the area.

"This type of crime affects people in a very personal way and can have a negative affect on their confidence.

"We'd urge the public to continue to give us information so we can take action and anyone who has an issue in the Chaddesden neighbourhood to contact us to talk it through."
