Thge Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.
Derbyshire Police Authority agreed in March 2003 to approve and adopt its Publication Scheme under the Freedom of Information Scheme.
This was submitted, together with a declaration to the Information Commissioner who formally confirmed that this was an appropriate Scheme for the Authority to adopt.
The Scheme was approved for the four year period from 30 June 2003, and the Authority was required to adopt a revised model publication scheme on 1 January 2009.
