Citizen-focused policing is a phrase you may be hearing a lot about recently. But what does it actually mean to you? Put simply, it's about the Derbyshire Constabulary providing a policing service in which the needs and expectations of individuals and local communities are always reflected in police decision-making and service.
It means putting you at the heart of everything we do. It means consistently delivering a high quality service, engaging with you and listening to you, so that we are able to achieve a high level of public satisfaction and inspire trust and confidence amongst the citizens of Derbyshire.
We are working hard to achieve this; we have introduced Neighbourhood Policing Teams into all local communities, we have a team of staff headed by Deputy Chief Constable Alan Goodwin developing numerous projects to train and educate staff, to redesign the processes that affect you and to make sure the culture of the Constabulary reflects our commitment to deliver excellent policing services to you. Being realistic, we will not achieve all of this overnight but we will work tirelessly to ensure that it does all happen.
Your safety is our highest priority; you can and should expect to receive a personalised service to meet your needs as best we can. The policing service you receive will be timely, responsive and understanding and you will be dealt with professionally and courteously by our police officers and police staff at all times.
