A house has been broken into in Heanor and the victim’s car stolen.
Sometime between 12.30am and 7.40am on Friday 8 November, a thief sneaked into a house in Fletcher Street through an unlocked door.
They took a set of keys and the victim’s black leather handbag. They used the key to steal the victim’s black Renault Captur from a nearby residents parking area, which is at the junction of Fletcher Street, Lower Gladstone Street and Burton Street.
The car was later found abandoned in Holmes Street, Heanor on Sunday 10 November.
Members of the public have found the victim’s bag and her keys, which were on a large, distinctive, heart-shaped key ring.
We believe the car was left in Holmes Street early in the morning of Friday 8 November.
