A convict has failed to return to HMP Sudbury following day release.
Alan Murphy (58) failed to return to the open prison on Friday 6 March.
He was convicted at Preston Crown Court in April 2008 to life in prison for possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Murphy, who is from Bolton and who still has family in the area, is white, 5ft 6ins tall and of large build.
He has very short brown hair and brown eyes.
