Appeal for witness to alleged Chesterfield assault

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Chesterfield are appealing for a witness to the incident to come forward.

The incident occurred at around midnight on Thursday 13 August in The Shambles, Chesterfield.

A woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted by a man who was then chased by another man who witnessed the incident. Officers want to speak to this man as a witness to the incident.

A 49-year-old man from Chesterfield has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and released on police bail.
