Detectives investigating an alleged assault in a field off Main Street in Shirebrook are appealing to trace a dog walker who was in the area at the time.
It’s believed they may have entered the park shortly before the victim, a 49-year-old woman, at around 7.45pm on Thursday 1 July.
Officers have no reason to suspect that they are involved, but they may be a valuable witness and could help us with our enquiries.
They have captured a CCTV image of this person, and although it is poor quality, we have released it in the hope it might jog someone’s memory and encourage them to come forward.
If you were walking your dog in the area around the time, and you think this could be you, or if you recognise the person in the image, please contact us.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Derbyshire police using any of the below methods, including reference 21*367401.
