A man has suffered serious injuries following a collision in Quarndon.
The man was running along Beech Avenue around 8.50am on Saturday 26 February when he was allegedly hit by what is believed to have been a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra.
He suffered serious, but not thought to be life threatening injuries, and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The vehicle did not stop at the scene, and we are appealing for information.
We would like to hear from any witnesses, and anyone who may have noticed a black Vauxhall Astra with roof bars in the Quarndon and Duffield area between 8am and 10am on Saturday morning (26 February.)
Beech Avenue was closed for around five hours while initial investigations were carried out and a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving dangerously, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and failing to report a collision.
He has been released under investigation.
