We are appealing for witnesses after a driver was hospitalised following a head-on collision.
The incident happened on a stretch of the A517 between Hulland Ward and Bradley at about 5.30pm on December 5.
Two vehicles were involved – a dark BMW X5 and a Kia Ceed. The driver of the Kia suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, and was taken to hospital where she remains. The BMW driver was not injured.
A 70-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Officers investigating the collision want to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A517 in either direction between Belper and Ashbourne, between about 5pm and 5.30pm.
In particular, we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a dark BMW X5 being driven erratically in the poor weather.
