Officers are investigating a collision between a car and a pushbike in Derby Road, Chaddesden at around 6.20am, in which the car failed to stop.
We received a call from East Midlands Ambulance just after 7.15am to report the incident and that the cyclist, a 49-year-old man, had been taken to the Royal Derby Hospital with a broken collar bone.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision and, particularly, anyone with dash cam installed is asked to contact PC Lucy Farrelly via one of the contact methods below.
