A 29-year-old man has been left in a serious condition in hospital after an assault in a Derby street.
The incident took place in Patmore Square, Sunny Hill, at around 5.30am this morning (29 August).
A 29-year-old man received serious injuries during the incident and is currently at the Royal Derby Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A scene is in place and there will be a significant police presence in the area for much of the day as enquiries continue.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have information about those involved, and ask anyone who can help with their enquiries to contact Derbyshire police using any of the below methods, including reference 222-290820:
