Scene in place in Ilkeston

There is currently a scene in place in the Erewash Canal Path near to the Gallows Inn Pub, off Nottingham Road, in Ilkeston.
We were called at 5.45am this morning to report that a passer-by had found a body in the canal.
Officers remain in the area and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
