Detectives have released two images as part of an ongoing investigation into a collision between a car and an e-scooter in Alvaston.
We know that the images are of poor quality. However we hope that drivers with dashcam devices who were in the area may be able to recognise the rider on their own footage.
The collision, between the e-scooter and a Ford Focus, happened at the junction of Boulton Lane and Harvey Road at about 9.30pm on Friday 23 July.
The rider was not seriously hurt in the bump, but then reportedly smashed the rear windows of the Focus.
Witnesses said he then got into the car, and was then driven off along Boulton Lane in the direction of Bracken’s Lane and Crayford Road.
We have not been able to trace the Focus or the driver, whose welfare we have concerns about.
As a result, we are now issuing the CCTV stills in the hope it may help us trace the e-scooter rider through dashcam footage.
The stills show he was wearing shorts and possibly a rucksack or bag on his back.
Were you driving in Harvey Road, Shardlow Road or the surrounding area around the time of the collision? Could your dashcam have captured the e-scooter rider?
We also want to hear from anyone who has seen a dark blue or black Ford Focus with damaged windows over the course of the weekend.
Anyone who can help should contact us using one of the below methods, quoting reference 21*413458.
